Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has insisted that Ross Barkley is his designated penalty taker, after the England midfielder missed from the spot, in their 1-0 defeat to Valencia on Tuesday night.
Given the chance to level the tie at Stamford Bridge, Barkley saw his effort come off the bar.
Before then, the former Everton man was caught on camera, telling team-mates Jorginho and Willian to back off.
Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Lampard said: "Ross is the penalty taker, he has been when he has started games and was when he came on.
"It's a great story to say there is contention between players but there wasn't. He took them in pre-season and scored.
"You have designated penalty takers, Ross is that.
"There is no issue among the dressing room, we just wanted to get a result."
